The story of 17-year-old Eric Tang emigrating with his family from Hong Kong to Canada. While his family struggles financially and culturally, Eric must come to terms with his homosexuality. He romantically pursues his handsome hockey-playing cousin as well as a middle-aged lawyer, and also his classmate James, only to be rebuffed. As the family restaurant and the family itself begin to fail, Eric forms a connection to an illegal immigrant -- with unforeseen consequences.

What if the love you cherished could be ripped from you, and there’s nothing you could do to stop it?  If a gay American falls in love with a foreigner, there is no legal way for the couple to stay together.  The choices are dire – live apart from the one you love, live together as fugitives, or flee the U.S. in search of freedom in one of sixteen countries that support same-sex immigration.  This intense dramatic feature exposes the harsh reality of nonexistent same-sex immigration protections in the US.
